Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

This CAICB privacy policy explains what personal information the Canadian Artificial Intelligence Certification Bureau (CAICB) collects through caicb.org, why we collect it and how we protect it. CAICB is an independent Canadian not-for-profit. We follow Canada’s federal private-sector privacy law, PIPEDA, and any provincial privacy laws that apply.

What We Collect

  • Contact form: your name, email address, organization (if you give it) and your message.
  • Website use: basic information your browser sends when you visit, such as pages viewed, device type and general location. We collect this through Google Site Kit (Google Analytics).
  • Language choice: a small cookie that remembers which language you picked.

We do not ask for sensitive information, such as health or financial details, through the contact form. Please do not include it in your message.

Why We Collect It

  • To read and answer your message.
  • To follow up on the topic you asked about, such as membership, sponsorship, startup support or education.
  • To understand how people use the site, so we can improve it.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. In addition, we do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask to join one.

Who Can See It

Only the CAICB team members who answer messages can see what you send us. We also use two service providers to run the website: Namecheap EasyWP for hosting and Google Site Kit (Google Analytics) for site statistics.

These providers may store information outside Canada, including in the United States. As a result, that information is subject to the laws of the country where it is stored.

How Long We Keep It

We keep contact messages for 2 years after our last reply, and then we delete them. Website statistics are kept by Google under its own retention settings.

Your Choices and Rights

You can ask us to:

  • show you the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct it if it is wrong;
  • delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.

How We Protect It

We use secure (HTTPS) connections, limit who can see messages and keep the website software up to date.
